Rituals refers to the set of activities before, during and after a match or practice session designed to create a feel and atmosphere in which the player is able to achieve maximum performance. Please keep in mind that when things are going ok, the use of rituals sometimes is not as critical as you’ll be feeling good about yourself and confident in your abilities. However, when you are feeling sick, or are bent out of shape or things just don’t feel right, the execution of your rituals is extremely important as it will help you get as close to an optimum place in your mind and body as possible.
Hence, you should always follow the set of rituals/activities that best suit you so that regardless of the conditions you find yourself in, you will be in a position to achieve maximum performance.
